This is very sad news, my sincere condolences go to his family, friends and of course his colleagues at ITS. I had two modules with Jeremy as part of my MA in Transport Economics. Now, they certainly weren't the easiest of the course, but I enjoyed them very much as Jeremy was a great mind with an impressive and somewhat infectious passion for his subject matter. I've got two fond memories that really stand out. The first was making him erupt in laughter when I placed a picture from "On the Buses" in my presentation to the class on the Transport Act 1985. The second was when he got carried away with algebra - spending ten minutes solving some rather challenging equations (which admittedly went right over my head), before then saying "but you don't need to know any of that for the exam"; he filled two whiteboards full of algebra for the sheer fun of it! He was a real one off, and will be missed terribly.
